Jack Gerus

Jack Gerus, a senior enrolled at The University of Alabama, is currently pursuing a degree in biochemistry with a minor in Spanish. Although his initial academic path aimed towards a medical career, Jack has redirected his focus towards the business realm. His aspirations include obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree at Bama, with the ultimate goal of establishing his own business. A pivotal factor influencing this shift was Jack's involvement in revitalizing his fraternity, Theta Xi, on campus, ending a 40-year hiatus. Serving as the fraternity's treasurer, Jack honed his financial management skills. Eventually, he stepped down to empower the next generation of members and explore new opportunities.

Despite transitioning priorities, Jack maintains an interest in the sciences. Beyond his fraternity involvement, he led the university's genetic engineering club, overseeing a synthetic biology project with a team of members. These experiences have equipped him with a diverse skill set and introduced him to a multitude of intriguing individuals.

While Bama may be a considerable distance from his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jack was drawn to the warm weather and the university's renowned football program. Relocating 500 miles from home required building new friendships, adapting to a different environment, and pushing his comfort zone. Now, he can't envision living anywhere else and is even taken aback by the sight of snow. A dedicated fitness enthusiast, Jack frequents the gym with friends and appreciates the fitness center in his apartment complex. Apart from his fitness routine and academic commitments, he enjoys experimenting with new recipes, hiking in the forests around Lake Nicol, and delving into the books lining the shelves of his apartment.
