Meet Cameryn Carr, a junior at the University of Georgia majoring in Communications within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. As the first in her family to attend UGA—an achievement made even more special by her family's longstanding support for the Dawgs—Cameryn is proud to represent her roots while pursuing her passions.
With a strong interest in content creation and social media marketing, Cameryn has cultivated a personal brand, @thegrrrlnextdoor, which has grown to a community of over 74,500 followers on TikTok. Her experience extends to managing social media for her rock band, SCHMOOZE, as well as the brand Shadebeast. In these roles, she has focused on follower retention, engagement strategy, video editing, and graphic design.
Currently serving as the Social Media Representative for ApartmentsForAthens, Cameryn enjoys creating content that resonates with the student community and highlights the vibrant culture of Athens.
Outside of her academic and professional commitments, Cameryn is involved in the UGA Music Business Program and works as a substitute teacher at the University Childcare Center. She is also the lead singer of SCHMOOZE, enjoys capturing concert photography for local bands, and often spends her free time thrifting or dining at local favorites like Clocked and The Globe.
Cameryn is eager to continue merging her creativity with meaningful community engagement throughout her time in Athens and beyond.
