ApartmentsForClemson Hosts First-Ever Tailgate for Family Weekend

Posted By: Gracie Kurtz News & Events, Student Housing,

A couple of months into year two, ApartmentsForClemson checked off a big milestone: the first-ever ApartmentsFor tailgate, right in Tiger Town. During Clemson Family Weekend in September 2026, ApartmentsForClemson welcomed families with tailgate survival kits, free pizza in downtown Clemson, and a game day tailgate at the Stacks.

Finding off-campus housing is a big decision, and it's rarely made alone. Clemson Family Weekend brings parents and families to Clemson to reconnect with their students, making it the perfect time for the ApartmentsForClemson team, the Clemson market of ApartmentsFor, to be on the ground.

Tailgate Survival Kits Waiting at Clemson Hotels

The welcome started before game day. Ahead of Clemson Family Weekend, the ApartmentsForClemson team delivered tailgate survival kits to hotels across Clemson, so families checking in had a little something waiting for them.

Each ApartmentsForClemson tailgate survival kit was packed with game day essentials, including sunscreen, snacks, hair ties, buttons, and other tailgate must-haves, plus goodies from ApartmentsForClemson housing partners like TreeHaus, The Cove, Bixby, Moda, Grandmarc, and Crawford Edge.

Out and About in Downtown Clemson

Clemson Family Weekend kicked off in downtown Clemson, where the ApartmentsForClemson interns handed out free pizza to students and captured the night for ApartmentsForClemson's social channels along the way.

Game Day Tailgate at the Stacks

On game day, the ApartmentsForClemson team set up at the Stacks, Clemson's brand-new tailgate spot. Under a balloon arch, families stopped by for Chick-fil-A breakfast biscuits, drinks, and goodies from Clemson housing partners. And for anyone who missed a kit at their hotel, even more tailgate survival kits were handed out throughout the morning.

Meanwhile, the ApartmentsForClemson interns were behind the camera all day grabbing content to bring the full Clemson game day experience to students online.

Helping Families Navigate Off-Campus Housing in Clemson

The ApartmentsForClemson team spent the day answering questions from families preparing for their student's move off campus. For parents just starting the Clemson apartment search, a few tips go a long way:

  • Start early. Off-campus housing in Clemson often leases up well before the next school year, so it helps to start browsing and touring Clemson apartments in the fall.
  • Look at the full monthly cost. Rent is just one piece. Ask about utilities, internet, parking, and any monthly fees so there are no surprises later.
  • Think about the daily commute. Consider how your student will get to Clemson's campus, whether that's walking, biking, driving, or taking the bus.
  • Read the lease together. Review lease length, move-in and move-out dates, and guarantor requirements before signing.
  • Use one place to compare. The ApartmentsForClemson apartment map brings off-campus communities from Clemson's campus to Pendleton together in one spot, making it easy to compare options side by side.

A huge thank you to the ApartmentsForClemson interns, to the families who stopped by, and to the off-campus partners who helped make the first ApartmentsFor tailgate one to remember.
